PORTABLE TOILET SERVICE DRIVER & TECHNICIAN

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Driving our portable toilet trucks within Highlands County to clean and maintain our portable toilet rentals.
  • Attach, remove & connect hoses from the truck.  Operate our hoses to empty and fill portable toilets.    
  • Delivering and picking up portable toilet rentals on job sites, at businesses or for special events.  
  • Ability to responsibly work with bleach and other chemicals to ensure proper cleanliness of our portable toilets.
  • Assisting our Septic Tank Technician on septic system inspections and pump outs.  Duties include ability to locate septic tanks using knowledge of septic tank installation requirements and/or probing the ground.  Once located, access the inside of the septic tank by minimal digging using a shovel to access and remove the manhole cover/lid in order to remove the contents of the septic tank into the holding tank on the septic truck.


 Employment Requirements:   

  • Standard driver’s license (minimum of Class E) and clean driving record 
  • Pass drug test prior to employment & randomly if requested by employment
  • On the job training is provided related to the specific tasks of the job.  No prior septic experience needed.
  • Complete a minimum of three paid hours of safety and production related training at the job site.  Additional training is provided as needed throughout employment.
  • Must provide your own steel or composite toe shoes.  Other personal protective equipment provided by the employer.

  

Physical Demands:

  • Be able to withstand high heat temperatures & humidity.  Work is completed outside.
  • Be able to lift, carry, pull or push 50-75lbs.  
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, dig, step up/down for one to two hours at a time for an 8 hour workday.  
  • Ability to operate a pump truck, locate, dig up septic tanks/systems.  Training provided.

  

General Requirements: 

  • Report to work on time and remain at work until the end of the scheduled work day.
  • Ability to listen, understand, and take direction from supervisor and team members.  
  • Ability to understand and apply work safety requirements and follow standard operating procedures. 
  • Knowledge of vehicle operation and pumps.
  • Ability to work as a team and also independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn by observation and hands-on experience. 
  • Operate a truck in a responsible manner, ensuring that all attachments are secure and access points are covered and sealed.  
  • Conduct septic tank or portable toilet cleaning with respect for the property and homeowner (if applicable).  
  • Ability to use GPS/mapping system on an electronic device.

 

Basic Work Schedule & Benefits: 

  • 8 hour day, Monday-Friday (40 hours per week, approx 7am-3:30pm)
  • 30 minute lunch (unpaid) & at least two 15 minute breaks (paid)
  • Hourly Rate range: $14 (inexperienced) to $20 (experienced)
  • Overtime is often available at a rate of time and a half
  • Benefits: 
    • Personal protective equipment (with the exception of shoes) & shirts are provided. 
    • Receive 11 pairs of work pants or shorts with weekly laundry service (after 3 month probation period).  
    • Immediately start earning 1 sick day every 2 months (with a maximum of 6 sick days per year).  
    • One week of paid time off per year after the first year of employment.   
    • Two weeks of paid time off per year after three years of employment. 
    • Most federal holidays are paid days off.  
    • Bonuses offered after probationary period.

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Drive and operate a pump truck within Highlands County. Attach, remove & connect hoses from the pump truck to the septic tank and return hoses to the truck after completion of the job.  
  • Ability to locate septic tanks using knowledge of septic tank installation requirements and/or probing the ground.  Once located, access the inside of the septic tank by minimal digging using a shovel to access and remove the manhole cover/lid in order to remove the contents of the septic tank into the holding tank on the septic truck.  
  • Ability to work on your own in a fast paced environment. 
  • Communicate well with co-workers and customers. 
  • Loading, transporting, unloading and setting concrete septic tanks with the use of a knuckle boom crane truck. Deliveries can be up to 120 miles away.
  • Conduct truck inspections on a daily basis.  Service, adjust & make minor repairs to equipment, machines & attachments.  Inform office of any additional maintenance needed.  

  Employment Requirements:

  • Class A CDL Manual License with Tank Endorsement and clean driving record 
  • Pass drug test prior to employment & randomly if requested by employment
